Water Hardness Test Strips
Monitor Water Hardness Easily with Chemitek Test Strips
Chemitek’s Water Hardness Test Strips provide a fast and visual way to measure total water hardness, offering a practical solution for monitoring water quality in industrial and solar cleaning systems.
Designed to be used alongside Chemitek’s Water Softening Agent (WSA), these strips should be used both before and after WSA, allowing users to clearly track the reduction of calcium and magnesium levels during treatment.
Each plastic container includes 100 reactive strips, making it a cost-effective and easy-to-use tool for ongoing water quality monitoring.

The strips change color when in contact with water, indicating the presence and concentration of hardness:
- Green squares show no reaction (soft water).
- Lilac/purple squares indicate calcium and magnesium salts (hard water).
Results are interpreted by counting the colored squares and comparing them with the color chart provided in the packaging, providing a quick reading in ppm.
Based on the ppm reading, users can define the correct dilution of the Water Softening Agent (WSA). Testing must always be performed before and after treatment:
- With Dosatron: test the water before and immediately after adding WSA to validate efficiency.
- With a water tank: test the water before adding WSA, wait 20 minutes, and test again to confirm proper softening.
Additional strips can be used if adjustments to WSA dosage are necessary.
Industries & Applications:
- Industrial water quality control
- Solar panel cleaning systems
- Monitoring the efficiency of the WSA
- O&M teams, asset owners, and cleaning companies seeking precise water management

FAQs
They provide a quick and visual way to measure total water hardness, helping monitor water quality for solar panel cleaning and industrial systems.
Reactive squares change color when dipped in water. Green indicates soft water, while lilac/purple shows calcium and magnesium salts. Results are read in ppm by comparing with the printed scale.
Hard water leaves mineral deposits that reduce panel efficiency and may cause hotspots. Testing ensures water is suitable for cleaning and prevents long-term damage.
Each container includes 100 single-use strips, making it cost-effective for regular monitoring.
Yes. They are ideal for verifying WSA effectiveness by tracking the reduction of calcium and magnesium during treatment.
