Inorganic Removal Agent
Biodegradable removal agent for inorganic contaminants on solar panels
Solar panels installed in industrial or high-exposure environments are often affected by highly persistent inorganic contaminants, such as mineral deposits, incrusted cement dust and residues from cooling towers. These contaminants strongly adhere to the surface of the modules and, if not properly removed, can significantly reduce performance and compromise the long-term efficiency of the installation.
Traditional cleaning methods, including scraping or aggressive chemicals, can damage the panel surface, affect coatings and pose risks to both operators and the environment.

Effective removal of inorganic residues without damaging solar panels
The Inorganic Removal Agent (IRA) from Chemitek is a concentrated, high-performance solution developed to remove persistent inorganic contaminants safely and efficiently.
Thanks to its patented AluProtect and Instant React technologies, IRA effectively breaks down and dissolves mineral and cement-based residues, eliminating the need for aggressive mechanical cleaning methods such as scraping. The product is designed to ensure safe application, preserving the integrity of solar modules while improving cleaning efficiency and reducing operational effort.
How does it work?
IRA is a concentrated solution that must be diluted with water before application. Its advanced formulation penetrates deeply into inorganic deposits, breaking down and loosening highly adherent residues so they can be removed without mechanical force.
Adjust the dilution to the level of contamination. Do a test in a small area first. It is preferable to leave the product on the module longer than to use a lower dilution. Start with a dilution of 1 to 3 (1 kg of IRA in 3 litres of water) and check the behaviour. If it is not strong enough to start removing the contaminant, keep reducing the dilution up to 1 to 1. In extreme cases, IRA can be used undiluted.
Make sure the modules are dry before application, since wet modules greatly reduce the product's efficiency. Spray the diluted product over the problem areas until the whole surface is covered, dry brush the surface and allow the product to react with the contaminants, adjusting the reaction time to the severity of the contamination and without letting it dry. Finally, using a brush, rinse thoroughly with clean water until all excess product and contaminant are removed. Repeat the steps if needed until the desired result is achieved.
IRA enables efficient cleaning with multiple application methods:
- Manual application
- Water Fed Pole (WFP) systems
- Robotic systems
- Tractor brush systems
Benefits:
- Effectively removes mineral deposits, incrusted cement dust and other inorganic residues
- Eliminates the need for scraping or aggressive mechanical cleaning
- Safe for solar modules, operators and cleaning equipment
- Improves cleaning efficiency and reduces operational time
- Environmentally friendly, free from solvents, ammonia and bleach
- Compatible with multiple cleaning methods (manual, robotic, WFP and tractor systems)
Performance
- Dilution: From 1:3 up to 1:1
- Coverage: up to 20 m² per kg
Applications
Suitable for solar panels affected by:
- Mineral deposits
- Incrusted cement dust
- Residues from cooling towers
- Other persistent inorganic contaminants
Preventive protection
IRA is a remediation product and should be used as such. To avoid the recurrence of contamination, protect the modules with a coating such as Chemitek's Antistatic Solar Armor (ASA), which reduces particle adhesion and facilitates future cleaning operations.

- 5kg drum
- 20kg drum
- 1000kg IBC
FAQs
IRA is a removal agent for highly persistent inorganic contaminants that are strongly adhered to the surface of solar modules, such as residues from cooling towers, incrusted cement dust and other mineral deposits.
Adjust the dilution to the harshness of the problem. Do a test in a small area to check which dilution is best for your case. In extreme cases, the product can be used undiluted.
Inorganic Removal Agent is designed to be as delicate as possible with the components of the solar module. The product reacts chemically with the contaminants and loosens the particles so they can be rinsed off easily, instead of relying on abrasive mechanical cleaning. In case of doubt, contact us.

The surface of photovoltaic solar panels must be clean to ensure full operation and maximum performance. Any kind of soiling on the surface of the module, such as dust, pollen, tree sap, bird droppings, sand or salt crystals, will reduce the light transmission, so less sunlight reaches the solar cells and the panel produces less energy.
According to recent studies, a very dirty solar panel can lose up to 50% of its performance compared to a clean one. The worldwide average energy loss due to soiling is 3 to 5%.
